RULES AND REGULATIONS
2026 Bangkok Fly Ice Hockey Tournament
- U8, U10 and U12 will play 3×13 minutes periods running time.
U14 will play 3×15 minutes periods running time. - 2 minutes warm up. 1 minute between periods.
- Teams are required to have minimum 6 skaters and 1 goaltender to start a game.
- Game is tied at the end of regulation
* In a preliminary round robin, if games ended in tied, there will be 3 players shoot-out to determine the winner (3 shots must be taken by 3 different players).
*In elimination games or finals, if games ended tied at the end of regulation time, a five minutes sudden death overtime period (play 3 on 3). If no goal is scored in such overtime, there will be 3 players shoot-out to determine the winner 3 shots must be taken by 3 different players). If still tied, single shots will take place (teams may re-use the same player after the 3 shots are taken) - Standings for the round robin of the tournament are based on the results of the preliminary games. The standings will be determined by -
5.1 Most Points – 每场胜负积分总和
3 points for a regulation win
2 points for Overtime/Shoot-out win
1 points for Overtime/Shoot-out loss
0 point for a regulation loss
5.2 Most Wins 胜出場数
5.3 Head to head record (if only 2 teams are tied) 双方对赛时赛果
5.4 Higher Goal Difference 得失球差
5.5 Least Penalty minutes 犯规分钟最少
5.6 Least Goals against 失球最少
5.7 If at least 3 teams are tied in points at the end of round robin, positioning will be determined by tie breaker, in their own sub-group, and using rule 5.1 – 5.6 - Each team is allowed one – 30 seconds time out per game.
- All games are running time, if score is equal or with two goals or less difference in the last two minutes of the third period, the time will be stopped. In-overtime, the last minute will be stop-time.
- Penalties are conformed with IIHF standards, unless stated,
8.1 Minor Penalties - 2 minutes
Major penalties – 5 minutes plus a game misconduct
8.2 Teams will play 5 on 5 coincidental penalties.
8.3 All penalty times on the scoreboard will be STOP time but game clock will continue to be running time.
8.4 Upon 4th minor penalties on any one player in one game, the player will be automatically ejected from the game with another substitute player serving penalty. Two of such ejection on the same player, the player will be banned from the rest of the tournament. - Hybrid Icing will be enforced except U8 division. Icing from center red line, players change will not be allowed (except U8 division)
- Fighting is an automatic ejection for remainder of the game (plus at least next game suspension, further sanction to be reviewed by organizer).
- All body checking is not allowed, unless stated, IIHF rules applied.
- Score Clock – only on-ice Referees or supervisor are allowed to stop the clock.
- Only coaches or the team manager may discuss matters with the Referee-in-Chief and Tournament Organizers.
- After every game coach or team manager have to sign a scoring sheet. After sign the scoring sheet no longer can change anything out come after the game.
- All players must wear neck guard and full facial protection.
- Teams can add players to their roster before Monday 2nd June 9 pm (Thailand Time). “No players or goalies may be added after the deadline.”
- Players on a team roster must have played at least 1 game in the round robin or knock out games to be eligible for any final game.
- Emergency Goaltenders:
* If in the event that the regular Goalkeeper(s) are injured or incapacitated during a game, the team will be permitted to designate a player as a third Goalkeeper and
shall be provided with a reasonable amount of time to get dressed, however no
warm-up will be given.
* However, if a team ahead of a scheduled game is without their regular Goalkeeper(s) for any reason, they must notify the Bangkok Fly Organizing Committee immediately. In doing so, they may request an Emergency Goalkeeper which may come from any team in a lower competition bracket or lower age group, as approved by the
Committee. - All players and coaches must show player pass or coach pass before going inside the bench.
- Players may participate in only one division (A or B) within the same age group : U8, U10 and U12.
U14 Exception: In the U14 category, players are allowed to compete in both Division A and Division B. However, each team may have a maximum of 5 dual-division players, including goalies. - All scheduled games must be played. In the event that a team does not show up or forfeits a game or manipulates the game to play a different pool or division, the Referee-in-Chief and the Organizers reserves the right from disqualifying them from the tournament.
- Any team that refuses to start play or leaves the ice surface without completion of the game for any reasons will be disqualified from the tournament.
- Only appointed photographers and video crew by the Organizers are allowed on the player
benches. Coaches are NOT allowed to bring cameras or video recorders onto the bench.
* Team photos will be taken prior to your first game inside ice rink. - Maximum 3 coaches/staffs from each team are allowed on the player’s bench.
- Home Team – Dark Jersey and Away Team – White Jersey
- Playing of pucks or balls in the building, around ice rink is not permitted. Anyone who negligently damages any property while at the rink will be held responsible.
- Any other clarifications or disputes will be handled by the Referee-in-Chief Mr. Teerasak Rattanachot (TIIHA Rama9), the Referee-in-Chief Mr. Chaney Sakunasing (Warrior Ice Arena) and Organizers. The Tournament Organizers will reserve the rights to final decisions.
